Awethentic Gallery is Hong Kong’s first art and virtual reality pop-up space that is open in Central Building for three months starting from December 13, 2016. The gallery specialises in showcasing socially and environmentally conscious artwork and photography, and for its inaugural exhibition the gallery is hosting the “Love is Wild” photography exhibition, created by conservationist Sean Lee-Davies. Additionally, Sean launched “Love is Wild VR” a virtual reality film about marine conservation in the Solomon Islands, which he directed and the film was produced by Awethentic Studio. To celebrate the launch of “Love is Wild VR” Sean collaborated with emerging local artist, Queenie Rosita Law, the founder of Production Q, with the partnership resulting in a hybrid artwork of Queenie’s handiwork layered on top of Sean’s print. Notable guests at the opening party were Olivia Lee-Davies, Lianne Lam and Magdalena Lee.
