The atrium of IFC Mall was transformed into a French-style patio for Chaumet’s “The Art of Jewellery Since 1780” exhibition opening party, and the Parisian jeweller hosted an invitation-only cocktail party to celebrate the opening. The exhibit charts Chaumet’s history since it’s founding in 1780 with the exhibition divided into three sections. The first honours Chaumet’s reputation as being the master of tiaras—the jeweller has made over 3,000 tiaras since 1780—and guests had the opportunity to try on a range of tiaras and take selfies. Another focal point was the fountain in the center of the exhibit, which showcased a selection of Chaumet’s high jewellery collections. Finally, guests were able to enjoy a virtual reality experience titled “Here and Beyond: An Imperial Virtual Journey,” which is set in twelve different locations and takes guests on a virtual journey from the Place Vendôme in Paris to Beijing’s Forbidden City.
