Hong Kong Tatler hosted a private dinner at Duddell’s to celebrate the unveiling of the 2017 Generation T list. Members of this year’s list include Luke Grana, Betty Ng and Nana Chan, who were present along with Yenn Wong, André Fu and Kevin Mak, a few members of the Tatler Tribe who helped to finalise the selection of this year’s list.

After a cocktail reception in the gallery room at Duddell’s, guests proceeded into the dining room, made up of four long tables with neon lighting running down the centre. Each table card was placed in a miniature dim sum box, complete with flowers by BloomBox.

This year each member of Generation T’s table card featured a QR code linking to a certificate, each representing a tree that had been planted by Hong Kong Tatler on their behalf. Hong Kong Tatler collaborated with Friends of the Earth to plant fifty trees alongside the Dong River, which is Hong Kong’s main source of water—as well as providing water to 40 million other people living in Guangdong, Shenzhen and Dongguan.

The evening’s title sponsor was IWC Schaffhausen and Goris Verburg, the Managing Director of IWC Schaffhausen North East Asia, spoke fondly of this year’s list and its evolution. He invited Wesley Ng, Aaron Lee, Laurel Chor and Lindsay Jang on stage for a group photo—the group represented four of the five pioneers IWC has handpicked from this year’s list. Queenie Rosita Law and Nicholas Ho were dressed to impress, both in outfits courtesy of Theory.

Aside from the sumptuous meal—which included Duddell’s’ signature barbecued Iberico pork with honey, and pan-fried Australian M9 wagyu beef—the high point of the evening was the keynote address by internationally renowned research scientist and National Geographic explorer Albert Lin, who wowed the crowd with a speech about his work and a video showcasing his explorations to date. After the dinner, guests made their way to Mercedes Me for the Generation T after-party.
