A quietly confident dresser, Claudia Shaw was sweet and charming during our cover shoot

Wearing a floral summer dress, Claudia Shaw, the stylish grand-niece of the late media mogul Run Run Shaw, sat in almost comically pretty contrast to the dusty, industrial film studios serving as the location for our cover shoot. For one so polished and beautiful, Claudia was surprisingly low maintenance. She disliked her hair being fussed over, insisting that her glossy long tresses be left straight and that the make-up artist keep things natural—“I want to look like me, not someone else.”

As someone who has spent the past 19 years dressing Chanel’s VIPs,
Claudia knows a thing or two about how to style the brand

When it came to the clothes, Claudia, regional style adviser and ambassador for Chanel, was bedecked entirely from a rack of the brand’s latest collection. She was the consummate brand custodian and declined to wear the diamante-encrusted heels proposed by the stylist, opting for the classic black courts she had brought as a back-up instead—“much more Chanel.”
