Filmmaker and environmentalist Sean Lee-Davies channelled Christopher McCandless for our wild, romantic shoot in the New Territories

It was a recipe for drama: wind-driven rain, mud, dogs, designer clothes and the fertile, rugged landscape of Nam Sang Wai. Sean Lee-Davies, the creator of TV series Adventures to the Edge and founder of environmental organisation Project C:Change, swapped his city garb for wool knits and wet weather jackets by Ermenegildo Zegna. His look was made complete by the addition of one spritely accessory: his Jack Russell terrier, Sparky, who stayed glued to his master’s side throughout the shoot. In between shots our crew kept Sparky occupied with games of fetch with fallen branches. He slept on Sean’s lap while our cover star was having his hair and make-up done, and even undertook some impromptu swimming practice in a nearby lake. It turns out Nam Sang Wai is not as remote as we thought—Sean was recognised by passing hikers and trail runners, who, being fans of his shows, requested multiple selfies with the star.
