Yuda Chan Hong Kong Tatler

We join Yuda Chan in the studio as she poses for Hong Kong Tatler’s June 2011 cover

For the month of June, Hong Kong Tatler invites Thai-born Yuda Chan to feature as their cover girl.

We pick up on her wealth of knowledge and cheerful attitude within moments of arriving on set: she gives her constructive opinion on the styling; she knows what colours suit her palette and how to mix and match shades; and is familiar bantering with our fashion team using the jargon of haute couture – we’re impressed.

For those who aren’t familiar with the name, let us give you a bit of background. Cairo-born Chan is the daughter of a Thai diplomat, so like most diplomat children, her childhood has largely been on the road, leaping from one major city to the next. Chan has lived in Nigeria, Indonesia, Portugal, South Korea, the US and now resides in Hong Kong. When she finally settled in Hong Kong in 1991, she joined a law firm and practiced law. That very same year, she met her husband Johnny Chan, who is the co-founder of Crosby Capital Limited, whom she now has three children with.

Nowadays, she spends most of her time taking care of the children, taking an active role in their development and schooling. She also reveals in a candid interview with Hong Kong Tatler, her love for stickers, stationary and comic books – boasting a impressive collection.

Above, we share our behind-the-scenes video of her cover shoot. To read more on Yuda Chan, pick up a copy of Hong Kong Tatler’s June issue.
