Olivia Lee-Davies, Purviz Shroff, and Eric Fok were just some of the recipients honoured with a prestigious Hong Kong Tatler award this year

The annual Hong Kong Tatler Ball brought together society’s finest, with a few of our distinguished guests receiving top honours from our prestigious awards, The accolades presented included the Most Stylish Woman, Entrepreneur of the Year, Most Promising Young Lady, Philanthropist of the Year, and the Diamond Award, as well as our inaugural Couple of the Year Award. 

Taking home the Diamond Award this year was Jim Thompson, chairman of logistics company Crown Worldwide Group and previous recipient of a Gold Bauhinia Star. Thompson was given a replica from the Coutts archive of a General Order signed by Prince Albert, husband of the renowned 19th century British monarch, Queen Victoria, and also a client of Coutts.

Entrepreneur of the Year awardee Eric Fok, member of the General Chamber of Commerce, and Vice Chairman of the Young Executives Committee, received along with his accolade, an exclusive trip to the Macallan Distillery in Scotland, generously sponsored by The Macallan. 

Philanthropist Award recipient Purviz Shroff, a faithful volunteer of Mother’s Choice, President of the HK Indian Women’s Club, and staunch supporter of various charities and organisation in the city, was given a replica of a cheque from Angela Burdett-Coutts, granddaughter and heiress of Thomas Coutts, to the famed writer Charles Dickens.

This year’s Most Promising Young Lady award actually went to two deserving recipients, sisters Amanda and Jennifer Cheung, daughters of David Cheung and Michelle Ong-Cheung. The two were given a replica of a letter written by Angela Burdett-Coutts, who at the tender age of 23 inherited a share of the bank. 

Our Couple of the Year, Stephen and Deborah Hung, received a trip to the Austrian town of Kitzbuhel, one of the world’s skiing hotspots and home of the toughest ski event, the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. 

Last but not least, Most Stylish Woman Olivia Lee-Davies, former director of editorial, PR and strategy at Edipresse Media Asia, and now Director of Business Development and Strategy at TVB, was awarded with an exclusive trip to an as-yet-secret location to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience: the Blue Book event, by Tiffany & Co.

We managed to catch up with each of our award recipients post-award ceremony to get their reactions on this year’s festivities.
