A spiral staircase and gold light fixtures anchored the space of the Lyric Theatre at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), which looked like something out of The Great Gatsby. The decor fitted perfectly with the theme for the evening, Art Deco Dance, and complemented the glamorous 1930s-inspired looks put together by some of the ladies.

Other highlights from the evening included the range of musical and dancing performances, but the screening of a short black-and-white silent movie, The Persistence of Time, starring Neo Yau Hawk-sau, a graduate of the academy’s School of Theatre and Film was a high point.
