We bring you the backstage gossip from our exclusive photo shoot with Jaime Ku, Hong Kong’s most fashionable woman and this month’s cover girl

Arriving on set in a drop-shoulder coat over a bright sweater, accessorised Giuseppe Zanotti trainers and an Alexander Wang handbag, Jaime Ku proves her status as a style icon from the get-go. She makes her passion for fashion clear by immediately bouncing over to the clothing rail to admire pieces from Tom Ford, Givenchy, Gucci and Lanvin

Once our stylish lady is dressed, leading hairstylist Kim Robinson tousles Ku’s locks and exclaims, “Jaime has the perfect bone structure; she’s such a dream to style and makes my job look way too easy!” Our photographer on set, Sean Lee-Davies, then perfects the lighting and turns up the music—special requests from Ku include Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke and songs by Phoenix. Lee-Davies later says, “There’s no question about it: Jaime is one of the most stylish women I’ve ever photographed in Hong Kong. She’s so natural in front of the camera and can turn on the attitude when she wants to.”

Champagne corks are popped and, like a pro, Ku sips hers through a straw so as not to ruin her perfectly applied lipstick. We soon realise there aren’t enough glasses, so in true Hong Kong Tatler fashion, we toast our cover star with coffee cups filled with Moët & Chandon.
