With her fiery spirit and her ‘kick-ass, work hard’ mentality, we learn a thing or two from one of the city’s leading entrepreneurs

Those in the know in Hong Kong are familiar with Yardbird, Ronin, and Sunday’s Grocery – all offer a distinctly different dining experience yet the common feature they share is that Lindsay Jang is the driving force behind them. Despite relocating to Hong Kong less than ten years ago, Jang has established quite a name for herself, from her growing social media following (her Instagram has eleven thousand followers and counting) and no-nonsence attitude, Jang is a refreshing and welcome addition to Hong Kong’s thriving creative scene.

Having just unveiled TopFit, she continues to flex her entrepreneurial muscles showing that there are no limits to what she is capable of. We speak to Jang about her experience to date and why are there no shortcuts on the road to success:

I had never visited Hong Kong until I moved here about six years ago. I now consider it home, as it has given me so much in so many ways

If I had to summarise my businesses in one sentence it would be seeking to carve out spaces in the market for fun, creative, top quality services, and products

My proudest accomplishment to date has to be my two children

Looking back, I can’t say I regret anything I’ve done, I think it all turned out well regardless of any reservations I may have had

I find inspiration in the people I surround myself with, mainly my team who helps to build and create, often making my vision a reality

The best part about running your own business is the excitement I feel when I wake up each day and knowing that all my efforts are going towards something that I value – it helps knowing that all the hard work pays off and it’s worth it

My advice to budding entrepreneurs is to kick ass and work hard – take it from me, there are no shortcuts

It’s hard to define my end goal because frankly I don’t see an end in sight

In ten years I hope I’m still growing, still learning, and still inspiring others

My words to live by are: “Be good.”
