Vote now for the women who are championing a better mind and body in Hong Kong

In partnership with the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation, Hong Kong Tatler is recognising some of the city’s most inspirational women. From the medicine to the environment, the nominees for the Women of Hope awards have all truly dedicated themselves to making a difference.

One category for the awards is “Health Advocate,” recognizing those women who have made strides in medicine and health. Nominees for this category are Annabelle Bond, Jo-Soo Tang, Margaret Chan, and Kai N. Cheong.

Bond, an ambassador of Sports for Good foundation, is pioneering the way for female adventurers. She was one of the fastest women in the world to complete the “Seven Summits” – a challenge of climbing the highest peaks on each continent in 360 days.

Tang has served has chairman of the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation for over 15 years. HKAHF provides financially disadvantaged patients around Asia with timely medical treatment.

Chan, currently the Director-General of the World Health Organization, has roots in Hong Kong, where she served as the government’s Director of Health. She was a prominent force here in the fights against avian influenza and SARS.

Cheong, a doctor at Queen Mary Hospital, is a powerful advocate for bridging the gap between public health education and the welfare of women and children. She is also a member of Doctor Without Borders and will be travelling overseas next winter to provide intensive care for newborns and children in war-torn countries.
