The Oriental Spa is a wonderfully intimate and a contemporary space, conveniently located in the heart of Central. Upon entering the space, there is an overwhelming sense of calm, through the warmth of the atmosphere and soft-spoken nature of the staff; the ginger honey tea served upon arrival and swapping work shoes for slippers. It feels as though the Spa is driving you towards a place of serenity, relaxation and renewal.

After being shown around the facilities in the 1,000 square foot space, I’m invited to change into a fluffy, soft bathrobe. The spa offers a variety of heat and water experiences ranging from a vitality pool, dry sauna, and a tropical rain sauna before retiring to the relaxation room where you can sip tea, lay your head down and have a rest before your therapist arrives to take you to your treatment room.

It’s not long before my therapist escorts me to my treatment room and takes the time to explain the treatment I’m about to have.

The Sodashi Radiance treatment is an acclaimed chemical-free treatment that uses essential oils to restore and rebalance the body and mind. My session begins with the Sodashi Signature Skin Renewal body scrub, a combination of Sodashi’s Radiance Essential Oil with Himalayan Salt to revive glowing skin. Blended with orange, bergamot, ylang ylang and rose, the Radiance Oil helps to ease tension and stress while relaxing the mind and transporting you into a calm, serene, and still headspace. The scrub noticeably sloughs away dead skin in a gentle manner while the oil seeps into my pores to refine and nourish the cleansed, newly scrubbed layer of skin, leaving it feeling silky, smooth and restored.

Following my invigorating body scrub is the Sodashi Mens Definitive Facial, a facial geared towards rebalancing men’s skin, to combat dull looking skin and ingrown hairs through a deep cleansing and exfoliating treatment. Sodashi oils sooth and calms skin sensitivity, with soothing mists used to desensitise your skin and a relaxing facial massage that will tone and firm your facial muscles leaving you feeling revitalized with glowing skin. The facial proves to be very serene and comforting leaving me in a pleasantly dazed state as my treatment comes to an end. Treatments are often so peaceful and calming that you don’t notice how quickly time passes. Feeling much more relaxed and at ease I make my way back to the changing rooms to get ready to step back into the hustle and bustle of Central. The Sodashi Radiance Treatment is the perfect after work treat, to restore and calm the body and mind leaving you feeling revived and relaxed.
