The fashion concept store has teamed up with the Italian fashion house as to toast the debut of Alessendro Michele’s new collection

With Gucci’s revival in full swing following their new pop-up space within their the Landmark flagship boutique, the renowned Italian fashion house has announced a new collaborative project with Dover Street Market, the leading fashion concept store and brainchild of Rei Kawakubo, the creative mind behind avant-garde Japanese fashion label Commes des Garçons.

Earlier this week, Dover Street Market in Tokyo’s Ginza district unveiled Alessandro Michele’s Autumn Winter 2015 Collection and Cruise 2016 to celebrate Michele’s debut, marking a new beginning and somewhat of a new creative chapter at the Italian label.

Dover Street Market will be opening similar spaces at their other locations in London and New York this September to coincide with their respective fashion weeks, and later in the year at the newly opened Dover Street Market in Beijing.

The collaboration is the first of its kind, and the spirit of the partnership was summed up perfectly by Adrian Joffe, President of Dover Street Market. “We have always believed in breaking the rules and taking risks. For a company like Gucci to do this was for me pretty astounding and on top of that we loved the collections,” he says, “they have that wonderful combination of being contemporary yet original. We are honoured to be a part of the Gucci revolution.”
