Judith Milgrom founded Maje in 1998, and the French label has now opened over 300 stores worldwide. Maje’s simple and feminine spirit coupled with the refined yet effortless Parisian sense of style is a formula that has led the brand to becoming a go-to label for modern women everywhere.

The name Maje pays homage to my family. ‘M’ stands for Moyal, our family name, while ‘A’ stands for Alan, my brother’s name; ‘J’ for Judith and ‘E’ for Evelyne, my elder sister.

You could say fashion runs in the family. My sister Evelyne is the designer and founder of Sandro. I actually worked with her at Sandro for over ten years before I started my own label.

Maje is designed for a modern and independent woman and for all instances in her life. These are pieces she can wear whether she is going to work, dropping her child off at school, going out to dinner, or grabbing cocktails; the clothes are designed for the active lifestyle that a lot of modern women now have.

My personal sense of style hasn’t changed very much over the years. I’ve had this style for forever, but I like to play around with different accessories every now and then.

My favorite colour to wear is white. It’s a colour that for all seasons; I love the ease, comfort and lightness for summer, but I also really like the white for winter – it really stands out in the sea of dark outerwear.

I’m a fan of wardrobe classics when it comes to my own dressing. A great black jacket is something that I tend to recreate from season to season. I’ve lost count of how many black suit jackets I have in my wardrobe, but next season, I will be wearing them buttoned with a suede belt with fringe ends tied around my waist – simple and chic.

I dress quite casually during the day. It’s usually an elegant blouse or sweater with jeans, but I like to be a bit more adventurous in the evening – perhaps something a bit edgier in style or a pair of higher heels.

I believe style is an extension of one’s personality. I personally don’t have pet peeves or style rules to live by, but I believe that if a woman dresses in a way she is comfortable in, it speaks for itself and it radiates.
