Introducing the work of Giambattista Valli, the Italian-born, Central Saint Martins-educated creative director

Brand Origin Paris

Designer's background With well-established ready-to-wear and couture collections, as well as a recent collaboration with 7 for All Mankind, Giambattista Valli shouldn’t be unfamiliar to stylistas. The Italian-born, Central Saint Martins-educated creative director introduced Giamba, a younger collection, to his range last year.

Design signatures Judging by its first two collections, Giamba is much more casual at its core, but Valli’s signature take on femininity certainly still applies here. Expect the same precision cuts, couture-like details and modern silhouettes.

Current collection Reminiscent ofLondon’s Swinging Sixties, the collection features a lot of key trends from the era—ornate daisy prints on doll-like rompers, plenty of decorative art nouveau florals, and motifs that lined the front of shift dresses, with macramé lace tights and sky-high platforms in tow.
