The acclaimed fashion photographer captures the spirit of the British heritage brand in a series of eccentric and energetic images

Aquascutum was founded in 1851 by John Emary, a British tailor and entrepreneur, and it’s clear that the brand’s heritage is firmly rooted in British tailoring. Emary is responsible for pioneering the first waterproof fabric that was used in 1914 – making the functional trench coats for officers in World War One. Hence the name as ‘aqua-scutum’ which, in Latin, directly translates to ‘water shield’. The British label’s latest campaign breathes life into the brand as part of their comprehensive revival after being sold by British parent company Jaeger in 2012.

Critically acclaimed fashion photographer Tim Walker shot the latest Autumn Winter 2015 campaign, which is contemporary and somewhat humourous. Six young models don iconic looks from the new collection – a bold visual statement for the brand.

The campaign possesses an element of eccentricity with Walker playing with positioning and proportion. Perhaps Walker was inspired by the latest collection as it showcases a sense of youthfulness that has been injected into the classic club check, a signature pattern that has stayed and will continue to stay with Aquascutum for years to come.
