Returning for another year, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is bringing not one but two fine jewellery fairs to Hong Kong this year: the 4th HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show at AsiaWorld-Expo (February 28-March 4) and the 34th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (March 2-6). Showcasing an international array of fine jewellery products and raw gems, there are a few special reasons to put these glittering event in your diary.
It’s the first choice of fine jewellers
With around 4,480 exhibitors expected this year, this event is the largest jewellery marketplaces in the world and draws in a variety of international jewellery experts and sellers. Last year saw a crowd of 80,000 visitors from around the globe, making it the perfect marketplace to pursue your jewellery passion.
A selection of specialist exhibits
This year, the exhibition will provide dedicated space for niche exhibitors. The Hall of Extraordinary features valuable jewellery masterpieces from prestigious jewellers like Crivelli S.R.L from Italy, Thomas Faerber SA from Switzerland, and Dehres from Hong Kong. The Hall of Fame is ideal for those seeking brands of renown, while World of Glamour brings guests the best and brightest of local Hong Kong designers and manufacturers. Other special exhibits include the Designer Galleria, Hall of Jade Jewellery, Hall of Time, Treasures of Craftsmanship, Antique and Vintage Jewellery Galleria and the Wedding Bijoux.
Unique themed zones
The Diamond, Gem and Pearl show will divide into zones, to best showcase the variety of stones and pearls on display. The four categories—Hall of Fine Diamonds showing diamonds of all carat-sizes; Treasures of Nature, displaying precious and semi-precious gems from different parts of the world; Treasures of the Ocean, showcasing quality pearls; and Rough Stone and Minerals, exhibiting raw materials—offer gem collectors a chance to speak intimately with the experts who know them best.
An opportunity for industry networking
The fairs are not simply for observation—grab the opportunity to engage with industry specialists through the networking reception, buyer’s forum and seminars: discussion topics will include 'Key attributes of an international laboratory report of coloured gemstones,' and 'Jewellery manufacturing quality assurance benchmarks.' The social events throughout the fair are an excellent way to meet both those in the industry and those passionate about jewellery.
Those wanting to visit both shows can take advantage of the three overlap days (March 2-4), when there will be a courtesy shuttle bus between the two venues, allowing you easy access to both of these fantastic fairs.
The shows are for trade buyers aged 18 or above only.
