We round up the newest novelty additions to the IWC family, presented today at Watches & Wonders

IWC Schaffhausen arrive at Watches & Wonders in a big way with four remarkable novelties, including two Pilot watches celebrating a much-loved French novella; a strong addition to their Portofino line; and a worthy, new member of their distinguished Portuguese family.

Marking the 70th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince,” IWC present the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince,” the first of the series to feature the classic moon phase display; and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince,” which will leave avid followers of the Pilot watches swooning as it is remains faithful to the classic Pilot design, differentiated ever so slightly with the date window looking like an altimeter. Meanwhile, the Portofino Hand-Wound Big Date, with its sizeable date display, further enriches this much-loved line, and is beautifully fitted with straps by Italian shoe manufacturer, Santoni.

Lastly, IWC unveil their third Portuguese model of the year, the Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days, which reveals a new case featuring an arched-edge front, as well as a railway-track-style chapter ring, and for a nice, interesting detail, the number “60” in the seconds dial is in red. It will delight devotees of the Portuguese line, as it stays true to the clean, sophisticated dial this family is widely known for.
