A native of Hong Kong, Joanne Chan completed her education in Canada and France. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Art History and a Masters in Journalism.
Joanne Chan is the founder of a boutique cultural professional practice, Per Artem Lumen. Prior to that, she was the CEO of Le French May Arts Festival.
She currently sits on the board for Hong Kong Dance Company, Advisory Committee on Arts Development - Subcommittee on Visual Arts and previously served in a similar capacity at the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Panel of Film Censorship, Commission on Youth and Harbourfront Commission, just to name but a few.
A French art, culture and travel expert, Joanne contributes regularly to several publications. She hosted a year-long radio programme on RTHK 2 entitled “Vive la France” and has just recently completed a radio programme series on RTHK 4 entitled "Vive la musique classique française". She has taken interviews on TV and radio including Phoenix TV, CCTV, ATV, Cable TV, Now TV as well as Commercial Radio and Metro Radio, .
Joanne speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French.
