5 Afternoon Tea Sets To Try This Festive Season

To welcome the arrival of a cooler weather—and of course, the most anticipated festival of the year, a dazzling array of hotels have unveiled their scrumptious afternoon tea sets for you to get into the holiday spirit. Check out our picks of afternoon teas that you'll not want to miss amidst the joy of hunting gifts and clinking glasses at Christmas parties:
Festive Perrier-Jouët Champagne Afternoon Tea at Conrad Hong Kong
What: This Christmas, Conrad Hong Kong is launching the finest Festive Perrier-Jouët Champagne Afternoon Tea, where you are invited to indulge in the tea delights with your loved ones at Lobby Lounge.
The set features a selection of savoury bites made with premium seasonal ingredients, such as baked mushroom and artichoke quiche, braised wagyu beef short rib, roasted turkey sandwich with cranberry cream, and Alaska king crab salad with caviar on saffron toast.These appealing treats are accompanied with sweet temptations such as Kir Royale jelly with champagne sabayon, mini chestnut Mont Blanc, homemade Christmas Stollen and festive spiced cookies.
The afternoon tea set is priced at HK$318 per one and HK$538 for two, well-served with a cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne for an additional HK$68. Guests will also receive a splendid Perrier-Jouët Anemone bracelet with the champagne House’s iconic floral pattern as a special gift per set.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
What: Mandarin Oriental is presenting its brand-new Festive Afternoon Tea Set at Café Causette and Clipper Lounge, where you can take part in charity with its most delicately crafted treats this holiday season. For all the afternoon tea sets sold, part of the proceeds will go to Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation.
This heartwarming menu gets you into the Christmas spirit with savoury treats including sandwiches with smoked salmon and horseradish cream, turkey and cranberry, and signature festive sweets such as 1963 Mandarin cheesecake, Christmas log cake and gingerbread man.
The set is available at both Café Causette and Clipper Lounge, with the price of HK$368 per person on weekdays and HK$398 on weekends from December 1-22, as well as HK$448 per person from December 23-26. You can also add HK$150 for a glass of Ruinart “R” Brut champagne, or enjoy a glass of Ruinart Rosé champagne for HK$210, which will sure uplift your festive mood.

Festive Afternoon Tea at Intercontinental Hong Kong
What: With Christmas in sight, Intercontinental Hong Kong offers a Festive Afternoon Tea to tempt your palate with an enticing range of savoury bites and desserts specially crafted by the Executive Pastry Chef, Christian Gonthier.
The afternoon tea showcases savoury items such as dungeness crabmeat bun with yuzu cucumber dressing, turkey and foie gras tree bread, Hokkaido scallop tofu style with caviar and more. On the sweet side, you will find holiday-themed pastries including passion fruit white chocolate dome, chestnut Mont Blanc tartlet, raspberry chocolate log, red velvet cupcake and festive macaron.
The set is priced at HK$668 for two people and HK$468 for one, complemented with either fine Mariage Frères tea or coffee (HK$688 for two people and HK$488 for one on December 24-26, 31 and January 1).

Five Seasons Tea at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong
What: Joining hands with the luxury homeware creator Alessi, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong brings you an aesthetic afternoon tea experience at its Italian restaurant, Tosca this season. Inspired by Alessi’s home fragrance collection “The Five Seasons”, the set perfectly captures the signature aromas of spring, summer, fall, winter and the transcendent season, which will definitely excite your senses with its crafted pastries.
The set is priced at HK$ 598 per person, where diners can savour treats made with quality seasonal ingredients: smoked salmon tartare, orange yuzu custard tart for winter bites; red juniper jam mini pavlova for an autumn scent; ham and figs panzerotto, ribes Nero sour cream tart as an ode to summer; and finally, cod and polenta, cloves ganache cookie for a touch of transcendence.

Together We Hygge Afternoon Tea at W Hong Kong
What: Partnering with Denmark interior design and furniture brand BoConcept, W Hong Kong incorporates the brand's motto of bringing beauty from simplicity and the use of natural shapes and materials in the Together We Hygge afternoon tea at WOOBAR.
The set features savoury delights including mini open sandwiches with flavours of skagen shrimp salad and wagyu roasted beef, smoked reindeer with chicken liver and pork rillettes, as well as cauliflower puree in profiterole with salmon roe. With traditional Nordic sweet treats like mini blueberry cheesecake and mini Semla, this afternoon tea might just lure you into booking a trip to Northern Europe.
