Afternoon tea is commonly found in Hong Kong, and we’ve noticed many restaurants and cafes looking to add the novelty factor to their offerings, with inspiration taken from beauty or fashion brands. At East Hotel in Tai Koo, the inspiration for a new afternoon tea menu comes from Australian brand Aesop’s signature skincare line featuring natural and fragrant ingredients such as citrus rinds, sage, juniper, rosemary, lavender and rose. 

Executive chef Colin Gouldsbury has created delicacies such as smoked salmon and citrus-dressed cream cheese profiteroles, duck and juniper wraps, lavender and honey teacakes, lime and basil macarons and more.

The Aesop afternoon tea is priced at HK$165 for two, and is available daily from 3pm to 5:30pm throughout November. Beauty fans can also enjoy an demonstration introducing Aesop’s full range of products while taking in the sweet and savoury treats between 3pm to 4pm.
