For its third collaboration with beloved local brands, the hotel will be working with Nana Chan for a tea lover’s dream

After working with homegrown F&B businesses Matchali and Cookie DPT, The Upper House will launch its third local collaboration with Teakha, a stalwart on the dining scene. The beloved tea brand and cafe, located in Sheung Wan, opened in 2012 and has since been one of our top-rated places for quality brews and delicious cakes and desserts; Chan’s dedicated tea brand, Plantation, is also a well regarded source of premium teas and teawares. So we’re excited for the upcoming partnership that will see the hotel launch a Teakha afternoon tea at Cafe Gray Deluxe, and host a fresh new pop-up on the 6th floor.

From 7 September to 30 November 2020, the Cafe Gray Deluxe x Plantation by Teakha afternoon tea will be served on the 49th floor of The Upper House daily, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Priced at HK$285 for one and HK$480 for two, the tea includes two savoury and two sweet creations that infuse teas from Plantation by Teakha, such as the Red Jade bergamot tea with milk chocolate chantilly and toasted hazelnuts, or the apple blossom verbena tea used to cure salmon that goes on top of Guinness bread. The hotel’s signature scones also get an update with candied ginger.

Of course, the brews available are also on another level with selections including Teakha’s iconic masala chai—doubled brewed Assam tea, here served with ginger syrup and milk on the side—and Keemun rose tea.

For those who want to pick up a quick cuppa and a treat can head to the hotel’s 6th floor between 11 September and 29 November (except Mondays) from 10:00am to 4:00pmwhere the Teakha pop-up will serve scones and tea for pick-up and enjoyment on the lawn. Chan has crafted flavours exclusively for The Upper House, including apple longan, Earl Grey lemon, matcha white chocolate and banana peanut butter. Tea offerings will include the yin yang (a coffee and tea mix), caramelised lemon tea, and Assam original milk tea.
