What: Sitting pretty on the 49th floor of The Upper House, Salisterra is the hotel’s latest culinary concept that offers a casual fine dining experience with warm hospitality and top-notch Mediterranean fare. This summer, the restaurant is presenting a new menu to please diners with delectable teatime treats inspired by the vibrant flavours of the Mediterranean.

In addition to savoury bites including duck confit pastilla, smoked salmon rillettes and salted beef cheek, guests will also enjoy sweets such as passionfruit cheesecake, lemon meringue chouquette, strawberries and cream tartlets, as well as scones with clotted cream and house preserves.

What: For a truly Instagrammable afternoon spread, head to Palm Court at The Langham. As part of the hotel’s 156th anniversary, the restaurant has launched a special tea menu featuring an assortment of British treats inspired by the classic children’s book, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Guests can feast on savouries such as Scottish smoked salmon and poached salmon sandwich roll, Irish crab prawn cocktail with crab finger sandwich and foie gras terrine with fig compote on brioche, alongside an enticing range of sweet treats including the “Eat Me” macaron filled with strawberry rose flavoured jam, and the traditional British toffee pudding served with a small pipette of Macallan whisky shot and vanilla custard. There’s also the “Paint Me & Pick Me” sugar daisy that comes with a brush for guests to paint an edible daisy in a chocolate plant pot.

For drinks, choose among a premium selection of loose leaf teas from Jing Tea, or elevate your meal with a glass of Taittinger champagne.

3. Artisan Lounge

What: Known for its stellar all-day afternoon tea offerings and stylish setting, Artisan Lounge is collaborating with luxury fashion house Burberry to launch a new menu that celebrates gourmet Italian flavours and the brand’s heritage.

Burberry’s latest fall 2021 collection “The World of Olympia” is the inspiration behind the tea set. It showcases a selection of picture-perfect teatime treats that will be a feast for your eyes and tastebuds, including avocado gondola topped with emerald greens and organic tomatoes on black charcoal tart; and “church ruins”, a savoury item that features that mozzarella and tomato, which is inspired by the Renaissance revival architecture style. Those with a sweet tooth will be satisfied with bite-sized desserts such as blueberry mascarpone tart and mango pudding made with fresh, seasonal Indian Alphonso mangoes.

What: For a luxury elegant tea experience, head to 181 at Fortnum & Mason, where you can take in stunning harbour views while sampling a selection of sweet and savoury treats presented on an elegant stand. Highlights on the menu include crustless finger sandwiches with fillings such as cucumber with nut brown butter cream cheese; hen’s eggs with Fortnum’s truffle mayonnaise; and smoked salmon with orange caper butter. The set also features a variety of cakes as well as freshly baked scones.

If you’re a vegetarian, or simply looking to enjoy an afternoon tea with healthy twists, the restaurant also offers an all-plant version of the menu, which comes with finger sandwiches packed with delicious vegan ingredients, cakes, scones as well.

What: Treat yourself to a luxurious, sky-high dining experience at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. The hotel is launching a new tea set at The Lounge & Bar this summer, which is packed with a refreshing, flavourful selection of treats that’ll transport you to the sun-kissed islands of the tropics in a heartbeat.

Standouts from the menu include river shrimp and pineapple compote éclair, classic duck rillette with pomegranate gel, purple dragon fruit and ube tart with bacon and brie cheese. To complement the savouries, the set also features mini confections including guava pineapple verrine, exotic mousse cake, strawberry yoghurt brownie, mango passionfruit tart, as well as classic and pineapple scones.

What: It’s no secret that the Peninsula afternoon tea has long been a Hong Kong tradition since the hotel opened its doors in 1928. And now, the brand is adding an innovative twist to its heritage with the launch of a new café and boutique space, The Peninsula Boutique, offering diners a unique version of the tea tradition.

Decked out in sleek bar-like interiors and imbued with intimate vibes, the new place welcomes guests to select and enjoy teatime treats according to their own preferences. There’s a whole range of options to indulge in from their extensive menu—from desserts such as mille-feuille and blueberry cheesecake, to savouries such as kimchi tuna sandwich, Parma ham and asparagus tartlet, there’s something to suit everyone’s taste. 7. Four Seasons Hong Kong

What: In collaboration with luxury skincare brand Chantecaille, Four Seasons Hong Kong is offering a new afternoon tea set to nourish your skin and delight your tastebuds this summer. Inspired by the brand’s signature Bio-Lifting Collection, the menu features a wide selection of treats prepared with power food ingredients. Highlights on the menu include hazelnut cake, raspberry chocolate éclair and dill smoked salmon with seaweed butter on focaccia.

Guests ordering the tea set will receive a complimentary skincare set and a gift certificate from Chantecaille.

What: Coco at The Mira Hong Kong is offering a new menu filled with refreshing delights that are perfect for the warm weather. The culinary team has interpreted the two popular ingredients for teatime treats: Uji green tea and strawberry, where guests will enjoy dainty sweet such as matcha green tea parfait and konjac jelly, and strawberry bird’s nest cupcake. The assortment is balanced out savoury items including matcha green blinis with dill and smoked salmon roe, matcha bbq eel maki roll as well as Japanese steamed egg custard with matcha salt. Yuzu scones and matcha chocolate chip scones will be also served for your enjoyment.

What: Whether you’re a food or beauty lover, you’ll be pleased to see Mandarin Oriental’s exclusive collaboration with luxury skincare brand XOVĒ. Inspired by the antioxidant properties of white truffles that featured in the brand’s hero products, the new tea set showcases an elegant spread of delicacies carefully curated by executive chef Christophe Sapy. Aside from savoury sandwiches featuring delicious fillings such as cheddar cheese, smoked salmon and roasted beef, guests will also enjoy desserts including the signature 1963 Mandarin cheesecake, yuzu vanilla tart and dark chocolate entremets. 10. The Pottinger Hong Kong

What: Another photogenic afternoon tea that deserves a spot on your food radar this summer. The Pottinger Hong Kong has partnered with La Broderie, a rising homegrown brand, to present a butterfly-themed tea set that celebrates the cultural heritage of embroidery art.

Looking both pretty and delicious, the set, which is served on a birdcage stand, includes a selection of colourful items inspired by the brand’s glamourous butterfly brooches from its “The Dream” jewellery collection. As part of the celebrations of the hotel’s 10th anniversary, the menu is dedicated to paying tribute to what resonates with us the most since childhood, which showcases a unique spread of local eats that will be a feast for your eyes and taste buds.

Served on a cha chaan teng style stand, the set includes savoury bites such as baby abalone tart with caviar, siu mai with crispy garlic and chilli, roasted duck roulade with foie gras, baked truffle chicken pie and Chinese BBQ pork skewer, Hong Kong-style Mexican bun with beef satay, to name just a few.
