From now until Valentine’s Day, enjoy French classic cakes and freshly baked pastries from Landmark Mandarin Oriental

As part of the Chinese New Year celebrations for Landmark in Central, Landmark Mandarin Oriental is opening a pop-up cake shop from now until February 14. Located at Alexandra House, the cake shop will serve an array of classic French cakes and pastries baked in house by the pastry team led by Michael Pretet, the hotel’s pastry chef.

French-native chef Michael Pretet began his career in culinary operations at Hotel du Casstellet in France before specialising in pastries. He formerly worked as the pastry sous chef of the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva, Switzerland before his current position at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental.

The three-week pop up will feature chef Pretet’s creation of classic French cakes, varieties that are stylish and timeless. Notable varieties include:

- Tarte citron meringue (lemon meringue tart)
- Opera
- Mille-feuille vanille (Vanilla puff pastry)
- Paris-brest
- Mont-blanc
- Tarte fraise yuzu (Yuzu strawberry tart)

French traditional pastries such as madeleines, tarte aux pommes (apple tarts), tarte bourdaloue (pear and almond tart)  and canneles Bordelais are freshly baked and available at different times throughout the day.

The Amber pop-up cake shop opens every day from 11am to 7pm from now until February 14.

All cakes are HK$40 each and freshly baked pastries are priced at HK$20 apiece. The cake shop also serves an array of drinks from teas to hot chocolate, all priced at HK$30 each.

All proceeds of purchases at the popup cake shop go to donations for Make-A-Wish Hong Kong.
