We may all be staying at home more for the time being, but that doesn’t mean that we can't still indulge a little. Since the new social distancing regulations came into place on July 15, restaurants may be closed for dinner, but businesses across the city have been pulling out all the stops to keep us satisfied at home.
From gourmet food takeout and delivery, to craft bottled cocktails, there’s plenty on offer—but for the sweet-toothed among up us, this is the list for you. Whether you’re craving ice cream, tiramisu, a show-stopping birthday cake, or a patisserie masterpiece, there’s a dessert delivery option for you:
1/14 Butterfly Patisserie, Rosewood Hong Kong
Rosewood's Butterfly Patisserie always delights with its signature afternoon tea and array of expertly crafted cakes, pastries and desserts—and the same experience can be enjoyed at home. Through Rosewood's online boutique, you can order a range of delectable desserts and artisan confections from resident pastry maestro, chef Holger Deh. Orders can either be picked up at the hotel, or delivered to addresses on Hong Kong Island, and in Kowloon and the New Territories (delivery fees apply).
The top pick for the season is the traditional Black Forest cake—made with Kirsch liqueur-infused chocolate sponge, a layer of sour cherry compote, Kirsch-infused cream, and finished with thin layers of dark chocolate—but there are plenty of other whole cakes, contemporary patisserie creations, chocolates and freshly-baked cookies to choose from.
2/14 Cookie DPT
Cookie Department (DPT) is a Hong Kong-born company specialising in freshly baked cookies. Serving a mouth-watering menu of "cookies without compromise", Cookie DPT vows to use only premium ingredients, including Valrhona cocoa powder, Ghiradelli chocolate, and imported butter, wheat flour, sugar and fresh eggs to create its signature, quality, home-style cookies.
Order via Instagram for delivery from Monday to Friday across Hong Kong, and choose from favours including chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, funfetti, brownie filled chocolate chip and more.
3/14 Four Seasons, Hong Kong
If you're not booking in for a luxe staycation any time soon, you can still enjoy a range of five-star desserts in the comfort of your own home.
Choose from an array of celebratory cakes and fresh pastries created by award-winning executive pastry chef Ringo Chan. Along with the likes of fresh fruit cream cake, Black Forest cake, cheesecake with fresh strawberries and more, the hotel has created a special takeaway afternoon tea set. The set features a range of sweet and savoury delights, along with freshly baked scones to serve two.
Orders can be picked up from the hotel, or delivered to locations across Hong Kong Island (delivery fees apply).
4/14 Emack and Bolio's
If you're planning to binge the latest Netflix releases, but your freezer is looking a little empty, order in some supplies from Emack & Bolio's.
The Boston-born ice cream shop offers a huge range of flavours—with everything from almond coconut bar, to chocolate salted peanut butter cup, and classic vanilla bean speck all on the menu. Not only can you order single or double scoops of ice cream, but you can also opt for a one-pint family pack to be delivered direct to your door. The menu also features frozen yogurts, milkshakes, smoothies and even a range of handmade chocolate to sate any sweet cravings.
Emack's has locations in both Wan Chai and Central and is available on Deliveroo, or you can order via its website.

5/14 Butter Cake Shop
Butter Cake Shop by Black Sheep Restaurants is an online bakery dedicated to delivering sweet indulgences. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or any other milestone, Butter can include candles, cutlery, plates, forks and even Prosecco with all cake orders. The menu fetaures eight-inch carrot cakes, coconut cakes and olive oil lemon cakes, along with larger triple chocolate cakes, lemon meringue pies and New York Cheesecake. For smaller celebrations, four-inch carrot cake and chocolate peanut butter cakes are also available—as well as special doggie cake for furry friends.
Orders can be made via Black Sheep's delivery app GO (48 hour pre-order required), with all cakes made to order.
6/14 Lady M
If you haven't tried one of Lady M's signature Mille-Crepes Cake, what are you waiting for? The delectable desert can be ordered online, with flavours that include classic, rose, green tea and osmanthus.
Online orders need to be ordered three days in advance and are only available for pick-up, but those near to Lady M's Causeway Bay boutique can order same-day delivery via Deliveroo, with a range of whole cakes, slices and more on offer.
7/14 Flakes and Layers
New from Amanda Strang, Flakes and Layers delivers its own irresistible creating: the Ooonut. Described as a cross between a donut and mille feuille, ooonuts promise to be crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside, filled with a silky smooth pastry cream.
Two flavours are currently available—vanilla and chocolate—and can be picked up at the pop-up in ifc, or ordered direct (minimum of 6) by WhatsApping 9191 3301, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Known for bringing over-the-top gai daan zai (egg waffle) soft serve ice cream sundaes to Sheung Wan, if you're after an indulgent sweet treat at home, Oddie's is where to order from.
The Gough Street store delivers Belgium waffles, gelato tubs, eggettes and its signature layered parfait to local addresses via Deliveroo. The gelato flavours are varied, including tempting options such as Lost in Tokyo (black sesame gelato with black sesame mousse and green tea mochi), Burnt Fingers (salted caramel gelato with toasted almonds and coffee brittle) and more—but we always opt for the Kiddo parfait, with Italian low fat milk gelato, Nutella custard eggete, Nutella sauce, cookie dough chunks, artisan cookies and cream gelato and caramelised croutons.
9/14 The Mandarin Cake Shop
Specialising in decadently delicious cakes, chocolates and patisseries, The Mandarin Cake Shop has been catering for Hong Kong’s sweet toothed diners for over 45 years.
MO fans can stock up on the hotel's famed rose petal jam, available to order from the dedicated online store, or choose from a range of other favourites. For special occasions and celebrations, the signature cakes are sure to delight; with a tempting vanilla mille-feuille, a hazelnut and milk chocolate cake, the classic 1963 Mandarin cheesecake and much more all on offer.
Orders can be collected from the hotel or delivered to Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories (fees apply) between Monday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm; and 2pm to 5pm.

10/14 The Peninsula Boutique
If you're looking for pastries that taste as good as they look, order some sweet treats form The Peninsula Boutique.
Expertly crafted by The Peninsula's pastry chef Francois Delaire, the Boutique's online store offers a stunning array of celebration cakes. Choose to enjoy a classic afternoon tea set at home—including The Peninsula's signature blend tea, scones, clothed cream and strawberry preserve—or go all out with a stunning mille-feuille cake. Smaller individual items such as a slice of the popular fraise roulade can also be ordered.
Delivery is available to all locations across Hong Kong (charges apply), or collected in store, with orders for cakes and pastries requiring three days notice.
Whether you're treating yourself to a single cupcake, or buying a whole box for a celebration, sometimes only these frosting laden mini cakes will do.
One of our favourite options for cupcakes in the city is Sift, which is also handily available for delivery via Deliveroo, with locations in Central, Wan Chai, Ap Lei Chau and Kowloon Tong. Larger orders can also be placed via its website.
Along with heavenly cupcake flavours such as s'mores, salty caramel, carrot, chocolate coconut, red velvet and more, Sift also offers fresh cookies, macaroons and cakes.
12/14 Dough Bros
Although specialising in cheese-laden sourdough pizzas, Dough Bros have also become known for their signature fresh filled doughnuts. Since opening at the end of 2019 in Happy Valley, Dough Bros has recently also set up shop on Central's Elgin Street—widening their delivery net to sate both sweet and savoury cravings across the island. Order in advance via its website, or through Food Panda and Deliveroo for same-day deliveries.
Three flavours of doughnuts are available: strawberry jam, custard and Nutella. We recommend trying all three.
13/14 Pici and The Pizza Project
Since opening in 2017, Pici has consistently drawn in diners with its freshly made pasta dishes – along with its delicious tiramisu. With restaurants currently closed for dinner service, you can still enjoy this decadent pud at home when ordering a selection of pasta dishes to your door.
The classic Pici tiramisu is also available at sister restaurant The Pizza Project, which has locations on Peel Street and Star Street—meaning you that getting your hands on dessert is even easier. Orders can be placed via Deliveroo, with The Pizza Project and Pici delivering to a range of locations across Hong Kong island and Kowloon.
