Coffee fans are now spoiled for choice at the Central shopping mall with the two latest cafe additions
With the opening of Blue Bottle Coffee’s second Central location, and a new pop-up by Cupping Room and La Vina, Central’s IFC has become Hong Kong's newest coffee hub. It’s become a bit of a running joke that every week, there is a new cafe or coffee shop to visit but, so far, there doesn’t seem to be anything to contradict it—not that we're complaining. The new coffee destinations join the existing line-up of good coffee options in the mall already including Arabica, Fuel and BYO By Nodi, ensuring that the office workers and shoppers of Central are very well caffeinated at all times.

Blue Bottle Coffee, which opened last year to great fanfare on Lyndhurst Terrace, attracted a similarly excited crowd to the third floor of IFC on their opening on 27 January 2021; the West Coast coffee brand has taken over the space formerly occupied by Panino Giusto, and the open layout is light and airy, decked out in the brand’s signature light blonde wood. There are a few exclusive items to the second location, including the brand’s own-branded coffee grinder, and a series of canned organic cold brew coffees; purchase six and you’ll get a covetable Blue Bottle Coffee insulated bag as well to hold them in.
Other highlights include lesser seen beans from Myanmar’s Kyauk Kuu Pyin, a remote village in the southern Shan State; Blue Bottle has been sourcing coffee from the region since 2016. On the food front, the cafe has also introduced some local collaborations, such as maple scones from local maker Grandma’s Scones. Blue Bottle Coffee is open daily from 10am to 7pm.
