Château Margaux caused ripples last year by being one of the first major Bordeaux wineries to send a brand ambassador for Asia (read our interview here with Thibault Pontallier) and on December 22, the brand did even more to cement their reputation in Hong Kong by hosting a “The Community Chest Château Margaux Evening” at the residence of Henry Tang, Chief Secretary for Administration. The dinner aimed to raise money to foster social welfare services and was such a success that over HK$5.2 million was raised that evening, thanks partly to the jeroboam of 2010 Château Margaux donated by the winery which was then auctioned off for HK$288,000.
