What: You can always count on The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong for fancy afternoon teas and its CNY edition is no exception. In celebration of the Year of the Ox and Valentine’s Day, the hotel is collaborating with fine jewellery brand Qeelin to launch a special “Red is for Romance” tea menu that will delight your eyes as much as your tastebuds.
Served in a gourd-shaped tea stand that pays homage to Qeelin’s signature Wulu Collection, or a deluxe lock-shaped inspired by its Yu Yi Collection, the set offers savouries including abalone and mushroom tartlet, braised pork rib and cheese crepe roll with plum gelée, as well as smoked duck breast mini tomato burger with mandarin gelée. What: Japanese-French restaurant Lumi’s new afternoon tea served on an elegant open-caged tier stand is almost too pretty to eat. In addition to a beautiful spread of savoury delights including golden sea urchin and wagyu with wasabi wagyu sauce on rosti, foie gras with fresh blueberry on crispy bread and mustard tamagoyaki sando, the set also features sweet treats such as wine jelly with seasonal Japanese fruits, brownies, cheesecakes, fruit custard tarts, as well as freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and raspberry rose jam. What: Four Seasons Hong Kong has launched a refreshing afternoon tea menu that takes guests on a gastronomic journey exploring the flavours of premium fragrant Tama Tama kumquats from Miyazaki, Japan.
Curated by executive pastry chef Ringo Chan, the tea set features a variety of sweet and savoury treats, including hojicha kumquat Swiss roll, foie gras and kumquat-yuzu jelly mille-feuille, truffle brie cheese, kumquat-honey jam and walnut puff, as well as Balik salmon tartare with kumquat zest.
