Christmas is around the corner, and if there's a time to indulge, it's most definitely the festive season. It doesn't matter if you're partial to a traditional roast turkey and all the trimmings, or are looking for a different kind of fare to celebrate with this year, we're letting you know the best dining options in Hong Kong.

Whether you prefer to dine at home or eat out, these Hong Kong restaurants are pulling out all the stops this Christmas, with everything from gourmet dinners delivered to your door, Michelin-star dining and international feasts.

Traditional Christmas Lunches

Mandarin Grill + Bar

Holding a Michelin-star for a whole decade, Mandarin Grill + Bar always delights, with the same said for its seasonal offerings. On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, a special four or five-course set dinner menu will be available, featuring highlights such as venison wellington and festive cocktails. Set vegetarian menus will also be available. In response to current Covid-19 measures, the restaurant has extended its lunch service to 4:00pm daily.

If you're looking for hearty and traditional fare, the Mandarin's Festive Roast is the ideal choice. Served throughout December, guests can choose from slow-roasted USDA prime rib,  roasted organic turkey, whole dover sole and more. The feast is complete with a range of appetisers, seasonal sides, a dessert selection and free-flow drinks.

Roganic

Known for showcasing local and seasonal produce year round, Simon Rogan's Roganic has crafted a five-course Christmas tasting menu, which will be available for lunch from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. 

Beginning with a starter of caramelised chestnut, hazelnut, apple and caviar, the menu also features a traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, followed by two desserts: 70% chocolate fondant with tonka and milk ice-cream, and a Christmas mince pudding.

When: Christmas menu available on December 24 and 25, 2020 for lunch only. The restaurant is closed on December 26, 2020.

Henry

Chef Nathan Green will be serving two premium meat-focused Christmas menus at Henry this December. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the restaurant will be offering an indulgent three-course feast––kicking off with oysters and Champagne, and followed by a choice of steak or smoked turkey with cranberry stuffing, and more––all served with plentiful sides including mashed potatoes with winter truffles and grilled corn with parmesan. Guests can expect a selection of American artisan cheeses and sumptuous deserts to cap off the meal.

If you're wanting to ring in the festivities all month long, Henry will also be serving a special festive set menu, which will be available throughout December.

The Chinnery

Oozing charm and renowned for serving up some of the best British grub in the city, The Chinnery's Christmas menu is full of traditional fare this year. 

Available throughout the season, the three-course menu features starters of king crab salad or game terrine, followed by a choice of Rhug Estate organic turkey served with classic sides, beef tenderloin Rossini, or pan-seared halibut. The festive menu is completed with desserts of Christmas pudding or sticky toffee pudding.

Smoke & Barrel

Throughout the festive season Smoke & Barrel is helping us all to celebrate with its special Christmas sharing menu, available from November 26 until December 26. The menu features two sharing starters, three sharing mains, two sharing sides and two sharing desserts, with dishes including slow cooked turkey and S&B smoked meats, along with sides of mashed potatoes, stuffing and more.

On Christmas Day itself, guests can enjoy a hearty menu, with the star of the show a slow cooked Pottersbury Farm Bronze Turkey with butter roasted parsnips and sage gravy.

For those dining at home, Smoke & Barrel is also offering a 5-6kg smoked turkey and all the trimmings to take away, with the set including a whole pecan pie and a bottle of bubbles.

Celebrate the festive season with Feather & Bone's sharing menu, which is available from mid-November right up until Boxing Day. Featuring a range of crowd-pleasing appetisers, and a main of roast turkey roulade with cranberry sauce and fig and cinnamon stuffing, served alongside brussel sprouts, house slaw, salads and mashed potatoes. A vegetarian sharing menu will also be available––with both menus finishing with a traditional Christmas pudding with eggnog custard.

Meats's festive brunch will treat guests to roasted turkey with gravy and cranberry jam, and sides of "ugly potatoes" served with meat jus. There are plenty of festive starters such as Mexican sweet corn succotash with peppers and lima beans, and chicken liver pate with onion jam, brioche and pecan nuts for a celebratory feast.

Holt's Café

On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve, guests can book into Holt's Café and enjoy an abundant free-flow champagne semi-buffet of charcuterie, cheese, fish, salads and more. Served to the table, mains promise not to disappoint with options such as traditional turkey with all the trimmings, and braised wagyu beef cheek with whipped potato. The festivities continue with the restaurant's plentiful dessert buffet filled with festive sweet treats––definitely worth saving room for. 

Holt's Café will also serve a festive three-course menu throughout December until January 6.

The Legacy House

Not into turkey? Enjoy a Cantonese banquet-style menu at The Legacy House this Christmas. Available exclusively on Christmas Eve, not only will guests be able to enjoy sweeping city views from both the main restaurant and from the private dining rooms, but creative dishes such as roasted goose liver, pork belly, mushroom and double-boiled partridge soup with dried mussel maca root are sure to impress the whole family.

Duddell's

Complete with free-flow drinks and enough dim sum favourites to leave you more than satisfied, Duddell's promises to offer a very festive alternative to turkey. The Christmas brunch menu features seasonal red and green coloured shrimp dumplings, along with dishes including steamed barbecue pork bun, spicy wonton, crispy suckling pig, Peking duck and more.

Duddell's will also be serving an eight-course Christmas set menu, featuring delights such as baked whole lobster, fried Miyazaki A4 wagyu beef and chilled abalone, follows. by petit four and seasonal desserts.

Be transported to northwest Italy with a taste of Castellana's modern take on Piedmont cuisine this Christmas. Available from December 7, highlights of the four-course set menu include risotto with Castelmagno cheese, wild turbot with almond and black garlic and a hazelnut sorbet to finish. 

While the menu is available throughout the festive season, on December 24, there will be a seven course menu available, featuring Brittany blue lobster ravioli and deer tenderloin.

The group chef's menu, which is available throughout November and December, is just the thing to book if you're looking to toast the festive period with friends. Full of colourful sharing plates and Bedu favourites created by chef Corey, the meal is topped off with the irresistible baklava rice pudding.

Booking for the big day itself? A selection of limited-edition dishes such as crispy fried cauliflower and smoked kingfish will be on offer along with plenty of other Middle-eastern festive delights.

If you're dining at home this Christmas, Big Sur's takeaway turkey set is ideal for feeding a crowd. Serving up to eight people, the menu includes a 4.8kg brined and herb-smoked whole turkey, along with sourdough gravy, and plum and cranberry sauce. Sides such as grilled brussel sprouts and kale with chestnut butter an crispy bacon; smoked duck fat roasted potatoes; pork apple and sage stuffing; desserts and more round out the feast.

For the first time this year, Black Sheep Restaurants are offering a full festive takeaway feast, conveniently available for pick-up or delivery from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. Designed for as little as two people, whether you're having an intimate dinner at home or feeding a crowd, you can feast on the likes of oven-roasted turkey breast  with confit dark meat and spiced cranberry sauce and rosemary gravy, complete with sides of mashed sweet potato; roasted brussel sprouts with bacon a sage; root vegetable gratin; and mac and cheese. 

If you're not in the mood for turkey, guests can opt for a spice-glazed Christmas ham instead, with the menu wrapped up with either a baked apple crumble with salted caramel, or a chocolate chestnut bûche de noël.
