The pop-up will be open from January until May 31, 2021 and offers an extensive menu of drinks and bar bites inspired by islands from around the world

Maka Hiki Lounge, a collaboration between Honi Honi and The Upper House has launched this January. Meaning "new beginning", the pop-up is located within the lush greenery of The Lawn and Level 6, which has been transformed into an elegant tiki haven with two distinct designs and features. The pop-up aims to become an urban oasis and city escape with a day-to-night concept that will hopefully draw crowds from hotel guests to locals.

Offering an extensive menu of drinks and bar bites inspired by islands from around the world, Maka Hiki Lounge is also hosting regular events, giving everyone the opportunity to experience this new take on tiki culture. From 8am, an all-day cafe serving light breakfast and daily specials are available, with teas from the homegrown brand, Plantation by teakha, CBD-infused beverages and "12 Noon" juices also included.

From 12pm onwards, bar bites will takeover featuring poke miso cones, Cubano pulled pork sandwich, codfish acras, Jamaican jerk chicken skewers, BBQ pineapple beef mini burgers and more. For sweets, Maka Hiki Lounge is introducing its rhum baba infused in a delicious rum syrup. A curated wine selection is also available.

"We are very excited to collaborate with The Upper House—providing a sanctuary for people who are craving a sense of escapism from the bustling city and their everyday lives. Maka Hiki Lounge was designed around the reinvention of the classic tiki concept and represents a sophisticated ‘tiki-chic’ Polynesian vibe with timber and bamboo, with an unmissable outdoor terrace showcasing an oasis of lavish greenery. The exciting events that we have lined up will also give people the opportunity to experience tiki culture in the heart of the city," says Max Traverse, Honi Honi's managing director.

For those looking to enjoy beyond the food, drinks and events can book a luxurious staycation at The Upper House. Prices start from HK$2,800 up for the "24-Hours at Our House" package which includes a one-night stay, daily set breakfast for two, a round of drinks at Maka Hiki Lounge and more.

With current Covid-19 restrictions, Maka Hiki Lounge is open from 8am–6pm and cocktails served from 2pm onwards until May 31, 2021. To make a reservation, please call +852 9836 7463.
