The team behind Uma Nota and Bedu presents the diverse range of streetside favourites from Malaysia

After the successful openings of Uma Nota and Bedu, Meraki Hospitality Group is launching Jalan this September. Set to showcase the best Malaysian street food and drink items from food stalls at night markets and coffee shops, the new restaurant will open in the Soho district.

Managed by Meraki Hospitality Group’s executive chef Corey Riches and head chef Saumitra Suryavanshi, head chef at Jalan, the chef duo are crafting the menu items together, aiming to impress with spicy food items with new, playful interpretations. Jalan’s signature dishes include beef rendang samosas; laksa fried chicken; Jalan ‘satay’ chicken; coconut roasted prawn curry paired with flaky roti canai, and pandan custard doughnuts. The collection of street food items are best paired with cocktails such as Heart of Pisco (Peruvian brandy, melonade, kumquat and lime) and Masala Mule (gin-based, turmeric honey, ginger beer, lemon and homemade pepper bitters), as well as selected labels from the wine list.

Jalan soft-opens this September for dinner, with lunch options commencing in October 2019.
