This Winter Solstice, a new all-day dining restaurant is opening at Wong Chuk Hang’s Ovolo Southside. Komune resides in a two-storey space within the warehouse-turned-boutique hotel and includes a spacious garden terrace. The restaurant is set to be a hub for art-themed design together with creative cocktails and food offerings.
Komune’s kitchen is headed by Madrid-native Alvaro Ramos, who designed the restaurant’s menu featuring courses inspired by his travels, fusing elements and flavours of Asian and South American cuisines. The all-day dining menu covers an extensive European-inspired continental breakfast spread, a la carte breakfast items in the morning, as well as a rich selection of tapas and sharing plates throughout the day, showcasing notable courses such as lobster and chips, Thai-style crispy suckling pig, Asian pork jowl bao with smoked eel and pickled cucumbers, and clams, chorizo, and sake. The restaurant also dedicates over 30% of its a la carte selections to vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options for guests with special dietary preferences.
Komune has also taken on the help of Cocktail Professor, an international hospitality bureau specialising in bespoke creations ranging from a tea library featuring infusions from Pukka Herbs, as well as coffee from Australia’s Pablo & Rusty’s, together with cocktails specially designed for the restaurant.
Komune is set to open on December 22, 2017, and is in full operation all day from 6:30 am till late.
