The French patisserie to crossover with Langham Hong Kong for a specially designed afternoon tea set featuring a bespoke flavored macaron

The Langham is launching a new afternoon tea set at Palm Court this season, celebrating the collaboration between the hotel and Parisian patisserie Ladurée.

The tea set showcases savories and sweets created and designed by chef Pedro Samper, executive chef for the hotel, with focus of two special macarons from the House of Ladurée. Both the savories and sweet morsels pay homage to flowers and colours matched with Ladurée. Notable savory items include:

- Smoked duck breast with mango chilli jam,
- Tomato and black olive pastry roll,
- Free-range chicken and liver pate with fig compote.

The miniature sweets bring floral and fruity notes to the afternoon tea set, with sharp focus from the brand’s ginger flower macaron, the bespoke flavour from Ladurée. The pink macaron is filled with a rose-flavoured chocolate ganache with ginger, balancing the spiciness from the root rounded out by the floral sweetness. The Marie-Antoinette macaron, the French brand’s signature macaron featuring black tea, rose petals, citrus and honey is making a special appearance in the tea set as well. Chef Pedro Samper also created an array of sweet bites, including the royal blueberry mousse with Ladurée crystallised violets, where the feathery light mousse contrasts in textures with crisp, short chocolate biscuit. Other sweet treats served on the tea set include:
- Grand Marnier floating island
- Orange and ginger canelé
- Praline and yuzu tart
- Rose and raspberry mini éclair, and more.

Palm Court also includes a selection of plain and raisin scones, completed with Devonshire clotted cream and preserves.

Guests attending the Ladurée Afternoon Tea by Langham will receive a complimentary seasonal macaron gift box. The special tea set is served on weekdays from 3:00pm to 5:30pm, and on weekends in two sittings, from 2:15pm - 4:15pm and 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

The afternoon tea set is priced at HK$298 per person and HK$538 for two. From September 12 to December 31, 2015, the exclusive Ginger flower macaron will be available at Palm Court for purchase.
