Matchali has a new venue at K11 Musea in addition to new handcrafted matcha drinks for spring

Matchali, Hong Kong's first homegrown Japanese tea concept is whisking its much loved hand-crafted matcha drinks to Tsim Sha Tsui, with the opening of a new location in K11 Musea.

Helmed by Cara Li and Laura Li, the matcha-house's new location boasts its largest dine-in area yet, cultivating a space that exemplifies their appreciation for zen moments and mindfulness.  Matchali worked together with Hong Kong-based design agency, Studio Adjective once more of the new venue, inspired by the fundamental building blocks of art: shapes.

Acting as an oasis of simplicity amidst the hustle and bustle of K11 Musea, the whisking station takes form in an elevated cylindrical shape encased in an expansive square bar top. This allows seamless 360-degree views of the whisking in action.

Meanwhile, the tabletop naturally curves in a wave design, forming a platform for serving drinks and food items. The seating area includes a long bench island and several small tables for customers to take their much needed time to unwind over Matchali delights.

The opening coincides with spring, hence, Matchali also expands their menu with new items such as the iced red bean matcha latte, a classic combination that pays homage to Hong Kong's love of the red bean. Also equally as refreshing in the spring menu is the K11 Musea April exclusive, iced mango matcha latte, a fruity, creamy and naturally sweet concoction. On the tropical side is the matcha colada, a playful twist on matcha, made with coconut, pineapple and finished with a matcha shot.

Other favourites such as the matcha and hojicha latte continue to be on offer as well as a curation of cakes and snakes including vegan and gluten-free options.

Matcha is not only delicious but is equally as good for the body as they are for the mind—packed with amino acids, antioxidants, proteins and vitamins. It also has the capacity to increase focus, boost cognitive function and instil a sense of peace.

With the new opening, Matchali also continues on its composting and sustainability program with two easy-to-use bins available on the new location for composting and general waste. In addition, all cups, bags, utensils, napkins and any residual food will be collected, composted and returned to the soil to ensure minimal waste.

Matchali, LA 106, 1/F, K11 Musea, Victoria Dockside, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. Open from Monday–Friday at 8 am–7 pm, 10 am–7 pm on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
