The kitchen appliance brand is publishing a coffee table book documenting the traditional tastes that shaped the city’s rich food culture

Founded in 1899 and celebrated for its collections of fine home appliances, Miele is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Hong Kong this year. To commemorate this special milestone, the German brand is publishing a coffee-table book titled ‘A Traditional Taste’, celebrating the elements that shaped the exciting food scene and heritage of Hong Kong.

Documenting the building blocks of Hong Kong’s food culture which dates back to the 18th century, the new publication is a collection of food stories, with reference to history and diversity in traditional dishes ranging from dim sum to roasted goose. The book also introduces readers to the people behind reputable restaurants where these foods and recipes are transcended through generations till today.
