Yu Lei and Messina to feature Mother’s Day menus aimed to impress

With May around the corner, it’s time to plan another feast with your family and this time, it’s our beloved mothers who are in the spotlight. In Hung Hom, Yu Lei and Messina have both put together their own Mother’s Day menus, each showcasing their culinary visions and personalities.

K.O. Dining Group’s Yu Lei Chinese restaurant specialises in Shanghainese cuisine, and chef Miki Imagawa’s 9-course Mother’s Day menu features recommended dishes such as Buddha Jumped Over the Wall in Yu Lei’s signature style, and roasted goose with plum sauce.  For the roasted goose, chef Miki utilises ten tantalising flavourings to create his own secret marinade. The goose is roasted for 30 to 40 minutes until the skin is crisp and the meat is tender.  Other dishes include:

- Steamed sea cucumber with fish maw
- Stir-fried Japanese cabbage with beancurd
- Steamed fried rice with salmon roe

The menu is available for lunch and dinner between May 4 and 12, and is priced at HK1,288 per person.

Meanwhile, at Messina, K.O. Dining’s Sicilian restaurant, a four-course menu designed by executive chef Francesco Greco will present a sampling of the best ingredients from premium seafood to homemade pasta and carefully selected top-rated beef. In addition to chef Francesco’s recommended Australian wagyu beef cheek in Nero d’Avola wine, other dishes on the menu include:

- Homemade ravioli featuring veal and foie gras
- Alaska king crab, buffalo mozzarella and seasonal asparagus salad

The menu is available for dinner only between May 7 and 12, and is priced at HK$880 per person.
