Nespresso’s new Lattissima One machine aims to make your mornings easier, one cup at a time
Nespresso Focus
How do you like to take your coffee in the morning? There are those who enjoy the zen of hand-ground, slow-dripped coffee, or perhaps the building aroma of an Italian-style stovetop brew. However, for a proper jolt of caffeine, the Nespresso suite of machines have made easy work of crafting an espresso-based coffee in any way you like—from a straight-up, no nonsense macchiato (add a dash of milk) to a lungo (lengthened with double the amount of fresh hot water).
But for those who prefer the creamy froth of a proper cappuccino or dreamy layers of a latte, it may be a little more challenging in a home setting. So if you’ve been relying on your local coffee shop for a properly made latte, Nespresso’s newest addition to their coffee suite, Lattissima One, is as close as you can get to having a barista in your home.
While the machine works just like previous Nespresso models in that it can create simple espresso and lungo coffees, there’s a new design feature that will appeal to milk coffee fans. Lattissima One’s single-serving milk container is designed to minimise waste, as users can simply fill up the container according to the levels indicated on the vessel—a cappuccino will require about 50ml of milk, while a latte will use about 125ml. Angle the milk frother wand towards your chosen cup, and press the milk coffee recipe button to start the magic.
The Lattissima One will efficiently use just enough for a cup, thanks to a subtle sensor in front of the machine that signals when to stop the milk frothing process at just the right time—when the container is empty—and is the secret to making sure every last drop of milk is put to good use. In addition, the container can easily be taken apart and cleaned in a dishwasher.
