What better way to welcome the new season than with a decadent afternoon tea experience?

And now that Easter is fast approaching with a five-day long weekend falling on 2-6 April, it gives us the perfect excuse to already start gathering our loved ones for an indulgent feast.

K11 ARTUS

If indulging in an array of scrumptious teatime treats with panoramic views overlooking the harbour sounds like your idea of a leisurely afternoon, you won’t want to miss the new afternoon tea presented by The Commune at K11 ARTUS. The upscale restaurant is launching a special menu "Tea by the Harbour at The Commune" just in time for Easter, which showcases a nicely-balanced mix of savouries and pastries including Japanese pork belly bao bun, unagi teriyaki slider, fruit tart, pandan crème brulee—and of course, freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and fruit and tea infusion jam—that makes for a decadent dining experience. For drinks, guests can choose from a fine selection of teas, coffees and juices.

Luxury hotel Island Shangri-La has launched a special menu to celebrate the arrival of spring, which showcases a beautiful spread of teatime treats featuring fresh seasonal ingredients that are perfect for the warmer weather.

Guests can anticipate savoury nibbles such as lobster wheat bread roll with cream cheese, foie gras melba toast with dry fruits, heirloom cherry tomato with mozzarella cheese and pesto, as well as roast beef rémoulade and spring cress. On the sweet side, guests will enjoy pistachio and cherry crunch, strawberry sakura tea mousse, green apple yuzu curd, and more. The tea is complete with freshly baked plain and raisin scones, accompanied by clotted cream and jam.

Afternoon tea stalwart Woobar at W Hong Kong has collaborated with Plantin Kaviari—importers of fine French produce—to launch a decadent tea set filled with a wide range of truffle-themed treats to whet your appetite this season.

Curated by executive chef Rafael Gil and French pastry chef Baptiste Villefranque, the new menu features a medley of sweet and savoury treats made with premium black truffle products offered by Plantin Kaviari, including scallop rillettes, deconstructed egg sandwich with fresh truffle, cheese and mushroom arancini with truffle sauce, truffle honey panna cotta with blackberry, and black forest tart, to name just a few.

Chocolate lovers rejoice! Kerry Hotel is joining hands with renowned chocolate maker Valrhona to satisfy your chocolate cravings with a hearty afternoon tea menu, offering an enticing range of delicacies infused with chocolates that’s certain to excite the most discerning palates.  

Aside from exquisite sweets such as almond mousse, passion fruit crémeux and raspberry mousse and lychee diplomat cake, the set also includes savouries such as crab and yuzu mini doughnut, Rougié foie gras with Sichuan pepper and strawberry, as well as Sicilian red prawn ceviche with passion fruit. Treat yourself to a luxurious, scent-led dining experience with Le Salon de Thé de Joël Robuchon’s elegant afternoon tea partnership with niche perfume boutique Parfumerie Trésor. Designed to take guests on a fragrant culinary journey and offer them a taste of France in the form of miniature dishes, the menu features a selection of savouries such as king crab burger with spicy mayonnaise, celeriac cromesqui with black truffle and quiche lorraine, as well as six exquisite desserts created by the restaurant’s pastry chef, Lionel Bodros.

Inspired by the key ingredients from six different perfumes exclusively from Parfumerie Trésor, the sweets are best enjoyed from light to stronger flavours, where guests are invited to spray and smell the paired perfumes while trying the relative dessert item. Guests will also receive perfume samples and be able to participate in a workshop to create their own perfume-scented hand sanitiser afterwards.

You can always count on Tiffin at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong for excellent afternoon teas and its spring edition is no exception. Their new seasonal menu will delight your eyes as much as your tastebuds, and includes a selection of savoury bites such as roast beef and cucumber sandwich with horseradish cream, egg mayonnaise and bacon soft roll, puff pastry with foie gras mousse, and much more. Those with a sweet tooth will be satisfied with indulgent desserts such as jasmine tea almond cake with peach jelly, rose profiterole with lychee gel and raspberry, chocolate truffle and scones. If you love afternoon teas and Cantonese delicacies, Michelin-starred Ming Court’s new menu is sure to please. Known for its consistently well-executed fare served in a polished setting, the high-end Chinese restaurant is offering a special tea set to celebrate the arrival of the new season, which features a selection of signature dishes including chicken consommé with matsutake and bamboo pith, barbecued honey pork loin, deep-fried Hokkaido scallop with prawn and fresh pear, chilled jellyfish with celery and water chestnut, as well as chilled cordyceps flower with enoki.
