Conrad Hong Kong’s Italian restaurant pairs artisanal coffee from Ethiopia with unique Italian fare
Conrad Hong Kong Focus
This summer, boutique single origin coffee Kafa is debuting in Hong Kong. From July 19 to August 2, Nicholini’s chef Riccardo Catarsi is launching a collaboration with Kafa at Conrad Hong Kong’s Italian establishment, where Kafa’s coffee will be showcased in multiple courses incorporating the roasted beans, accompanied by cocktails prepared with the distinctive brew.
Derived from the beans’ origin in a small forest region in Ethiopia, Kafa’s 100% Arabica coffee’s premium quality is the sum of optimum climate, terroir, and cultivation techniques. The coffee beans, picked one-by-one, are processed and harvested in small quantities. Inspired by its unique tasting notes, chef Catarsi marries the coffee with the freshest produce in his menu. Highlighted dishes include scampi, roasted smoked leek cream, bell pepper brunoise and Kafa coffee dust; risotto with castelmagno and mascarpone cheese, porcini mushroom and coffee sweet onion cream, as well as lamb loin with cherries, almonds and coffee polenta. The Kafa coffee tasting menu is priced at HK$1,080 per person.
