One Star House Party’s James Sharman Returns To Open The Leah This May
Having toured with culinary pop-up events set around the world, One Star House Party’s chef James Sharman is returning to Hong Kong this May. The British chef is making a comeback with The Leah, a British restaurant set to open at Lee Gardens Two’s Maggie & Rose.
Having trained under esteemed personalities of gastronomy with the likes of Tom Aikens and Noma’s Rene Redzepi, Sharman is revisiting British culinary traditions at The Leah, featuring the country’s classics prepared with locally-sourced vegetables, meats, and sustainable seafood.
Inspired by his travels, Sharman channeled the rich culinary traditions of England in creating his take on the right interpretation of comfort food, through hearty staples such as Scotch egg, beef, ale ,and black pepper pie, scallop, leek and black pudding, beef Wellington and roasted cauliflower cheese, as well as mains such as beef shortrib with onions and beef fat gnocchi. Opening to public for dinner only after the members-only club closes at 7:00 pm, The Leah also doubles as a post-work meeting place with a bar menu and reinvented cocktails with classics such as Tom Collins, Aperol Spritz and Pimm’s Cup.
Surrounded by lush greenery, guests can enjoy the food and drink offerings from the homey main dining room while overlooking the expansive terrace reminiscent of English meadows, a contrast against the city landscape of Causeway Bay. The Leah is set to open May 21, 2019.
