The acclaimed chef presents the new Le Grand Petit Dejeuner menu for a gourmet weekend pastime

Brunch lovers take note: for the first time in the history of Mandarin Oriental’s Pierre restaurant, a Sunday brunch menu is set to be served from January 15, featuring dishes designed by the legendary Pierre Gagnaire himself, and crafted and executed by a brigade of chefs led by the restaurant’s new chef de cuisine Jacky Tauvry.

Set to begin on Sunday, January 15, the chef’s new Le Grand Petit Dejeuner menu begins with 10 starters, from seaweed tartare with smoked mackerel to Japanese style oyster served in shell socket. After the collection of starters to share, guests can indulge in a number of egg dishes from the menu, each vibrantly different from one another. Those who prefer a classic egg dish can order the poached egg with foie gras veloute and spinach fondue. Those looking for an exotic twist can choose between a Vietnamese flat omelette or nested quail egg with tomato jam.

Brunch guests can choose from a selection of main courses, with a particularly rich selection of seafood dishes, notably including:

  • Tandoori John Dory with endive fondue and grapefruit
  • Cocotte of scallops, razor clams and salsify
  • Salted cod green brandade with cucumber
  • Free-range poultry breast Shimizu with dried fruit polenta
  • Grilled rib-eye with buckwheat galette and rocket leaves
  • Tagliolini with parmesan and lemon cream and honey-braised carrots

Guests should save room for desserts, an exciting array of pastries and individually-portioned desserts displayed at the restaurant’s centerpiece table. As part of the brunch, guests are encouraged to select desired beverages from a carefully designed list of drinks crafted by the team, including a champagne carafe for two, served in a glass decanter designed by Fludio Studio. Aside from coffees and fine tea infusions, Pierre also takes pride in chef Gagnaire’s own creation of black hot chocolate with juniper, as well as a spice-rich, warming masala chai, also available for selection at the brunch beverage menu.

The Le Grand Petit Dejeuner brunch menu is served on Sundays starting January 15. The brunch menu is priced at HK$688 per person.
