Four of these openings will be located under one roof as part of a new dining complex in Quarry Bay
2021 has been a whirlwind year of new F&B openings, even by usual Hong Kong standards, and it doesn't look like the rest of the year will let up. Joining in on the frenzy is Pirata Group, which in the past seven months has already opened Pane e Latte in Stanley, TMK Rap & Rolls in the Starstreet Precinct, and two new Pici outlets in Kennedy Town and for the first time abroad in Shanghai.
Not one to rest on their laurels, the hospitality group has announced the addition of another six outlets to its portfolio in the latter half of 2021. Among them, the most ambitious is The Sixteenth, a new, all-day dining destination in Quarry Bay that will encompass four venues in a 16,000 sq. ft area, serving both the area's many office workers during the week as well as families and food-lovers on the weekend.

Among the restaurants under this one roof are two Italian concepts: La Favorita, a theatrically-designed restaurant modelled after Sicilian trattorias of the 1980s, which is located adjacent to terrace bar and garden Tempo Tempo, a gathering place for aperitivos and sundowners. After covering the categories of punk and rap, TMK will move onto funk and hand rolls in its third location here, while Honjo will welcome a sub-brand, Honjokko, which will focus on sushi in more intimate settings. The Sixteenth's intent will be to provide a range of culinary moments, from brunch all to the way to late-night drinks, to the Eastern district.
Apart from The Sixteenth, the group is also planning to yet another Pici, this time in Tseung Kwan O, while its fourth Deliveroo kitchen will open in Kowloon Bay this August, serving food from Pici and The Pizza Project. With a total of 14 outlets by the end of this year, the Pirata Group is certainly making big moves in the restaurant space as the industry rebounds from Covid-induced lows.
