Follow your epicurean heart’s desire to four of Asia’s culinary capitals with The Ritz-Carlton this autumn

It’s no secret that food rates highly when it comes to travelling: we’ve been known to fly a few thousand miles just because we’ve scored seats at an a near-impossible-to-book restaurant, or we’ve heard that a favourite market or food stall of ours is shutting up shop and we simply must visit one last time.

If, like us, you’re forever in pursuit of memorable wining and dining experiences, then you will hardly need an excuse to hop on a flight for your next bite. Nonetheless, The Ritz-Carlton is taking culinary tourism to new heady heights, and serving up temptations aplenty with the hotel’s latest initiative—the Stellar Dining Series by The Ritz-Carlton.

The exclusive month-long culinary journey will see six of the Ritz-Carlton’s most distinguished chefs guide food lovers through unique gourmet experiences in four iconic dining destinations: Singapore; Osaka; Hong Kong; and Beijing. On each stop of the tour, these six chefs will be presenting their own individual signature cuisines, as well as collaborating with each other to create new exclusive dishes in a series of special dining events. For the extra-dedicated gourmands, the programme also includes expert-led masterclasses and workshops focusing on chocolate and cocktails.

Each of the chefs head up six highly-acclaimed restaurants in the region, and register seven Michelin stars between them in The Ritz-Carlton’s properties in Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Singapore. The Stellar Dining Series serves as a platform for these illustrious chefs to share ideas and techniques, to take inspiration from each other as well as from the host cities to elevate their craft and create memorable luxury dining experiences for their guests. This exchange of ideas, combined with the chefs’ inherent passion and expertise is at the heart of The Ritz-Carlton’s approach to hospitality, and is a true celebration of their star team’s creativity, know-how and exceptional service.

The gourmet journey kicks off on November 1 until November 4 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, where discerning diners can expect a six-hands collaboration featuring the best regional Chinese dishes from chef Paul Lau of Tin Lung Heen at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong; chef Gordon Guo of Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou; and the host city’s own chef Cheung Siu Kong of Summer Pavilion. Those with a sweet tooth should mark their diaries for an afternoon tea date with Richard Long, The Ritz-Carlton’s celebrated pastry chef from Hong Kong, while those of you who like a tipple should make a beeline for Oscar Mena’s cocktails.

Next up is Osaka between November 8 to 10, where the menu will feature Japanese-inspired French cuisine from chef Christophe Gibert of La Baie at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka and Chef Shintaro Miyazaki of Azure 45 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. Dishing up the crispest of seasonal tempura will be Kenji Fujimoto of Tempura Mizuki at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto who will be working alongside Chef Takeshi Fukana at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka. Here, Singapore’s Chef Cheung makes another appearance working side by side with Osaka’s Chef Peter Cheung to serve up authentic Cantonese fare. Food nerds can also check out the masterclass programme for workshops in chocolate and cocktails.

The tour then continues November 22 to 25 at the dizzying heights of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong—the highest hotel in the world—where guests will be treated to a four-hands dinner from chefs Paul Lau and Shintaro Miyazaki. If you’ve always fancied yourself as a bartender, then be sure to get the tricks of the trade from Kentaro Wada, head bartender of The Lounge and Bar at the hotel group’s Tokyo property.

Wrapping up the Stellar Dining Series will be The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing from November 29 to December 1, where chef Christophe Gibert and chef Cheung Siu Kong will create a haute French cuisine experience and contemporary Chinese menu at Barolo and Yu respectively. There’ll be another opportunity to hone down your mixology skills here, this time with cocktails inspired by China’s treasured teas.

With a top-drawer culinary programme like this, we won’t be surprised if you’ve already started reaching for your passport. Bon voyage and bon appetit.
