The restaurant incubator will be home Wong’s simple but original delights inspired by humble root vegetables

After a successful line-up of chef pop-ups, PMQ’s Taste Kitchen has launched its latest collaboration with Roots Eatery, where proprietor and chef Stephanie Wong will offer her original take on nourishing good eats.

From now until March 25, guests can learn more about Wong’s restaurant concept through her simple yet original take on comfort dishes. Inspired by root vegetables’ humble but nutritious nature, the concept behind the creation of Roots Eatery lies in allowing top quality ingredients to shine through their original taste, and with minimal embellishments. Such is Wong’s philosophy developed through her profession shift from banking to culinary arts. In 2015, Wong moved to Paris to pursue a career in food, and earned her culinary arts diploma from Alain Ducasse’s cookery school, as well as gaining professional kitchen experience at Saint Emilion’s Hostellerie de Plaisance and Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s Amber.

During the three-week pop-up event at Taste Kitchen, Wong will offer her take on simple but fine courses such as rosemary roasted French organic chicken with kale, tomatoes, and potatoes; heirloom tomatoes a la nage; as well as a dish titled Homage to Grandma’s Lobster, a seafood course pairing Atlantic lobsters with a bisque and fettuccine. Wong’s Roots Eatery offerings are available for both lunch and dinners during the promotional period.
