Born and raised in metropolitan Mumbai, Kavatkar is celebrating her heritage throughout the two-night dinner pop-up event, where she prepares her take on family dishes, drawing inspiration from Mumbai’s street food and her childhood years in Mauritius. The corporate professional by day and passion-driven cook by night, Kavatar will present a tasting menu featuring East Indian flavours, exemplified in Kavatar’s range of homemade marinades, spice blends, and more. Highlights in the tasting menu include canapes of beetroot puri with chole chaat; East Indian lamb potato chops with green pea chutney, and Kachumer; and mains such as bottle masala sous-vide chicken with curry leaf spiced Tadka Khuddi sauce and flavoured cumin rice. The six-course East Indian pop-up dinner menu is priced at HK$980 per person, with an optional wine pairing package available at an additional HK$580 per person.
