The esteemed bar is staging a one-night-only event at the newly opened contemporary Asian restaurant Fang Fang

Known for its use of vibrant flavours via foraged ingredients in its cocktails, Singapore’s Native bar is heading to Hong Kong this month for a one-night-only event at Fang Fang, one of the month’s newest openings. Vijay Mudaliar, founder and bar manager of Native, is heading east to showcase the bar’s strength in fusing powerful flavour profiles through ingredients unique to Asian cuisine.

Opened in 2016, Native recently earned the #20 spot on this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bar List thanks to its unique cocktails. Before opening Native, Mudaliar helped launch Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social in London, and then went on to win the 2015 Diplomatico World Tournament Singapore Final, as well as The Bartender of the Year award from The Bar Awards Singapore 2017. His unique take on urban foraging is thoroughly displayed in his creative cocktails, and three of them are being featured in Fang Fang’s pop-up event on July 13, 2017.

Mudaliar will collaborate with Fang Fang’s own bar manager Gagan Gurung, whose cocktails are themed around ancient Chinese five elements philosophy, accentuating an abundance of herbs, spices, and exotic fruits. The duo will host a special cocktail masterclass from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on the day of the event, as well as a cocktail-filled event at night from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Native’s three special cocktails will be available for one night only and are priced at HK$110 each.
