Black Sheep Restaurant’s latest venture transports guests back to the tropics with Bangkok favorites and inventive cocktails

After a successful summer pop-up event, Soul Food Hong Kong, Black Sheep Restaurants’ latest opening is now running on Elgin Street, Soho. The new Thai restaurant is presenting vibrant flavours inspired by the country’s street food and prepared with traditional techniques.

The original Soul Food Mahanakorn was created by American food writer-turned-restaurateur Jarrett Wrisley. Since its opening in 2010, Wrisley’s restaurant has paid tribute to traditional recipes he collected throughout his travels in Thailand, and this autumn, he is bringing them here to Hong Kong, where he recreates a rich selection of Thai specialties beyond the conventional array.

Guests can find traditional Thai dishes originating from all corners of the country, some of them which have become Soul Food Hong Kong’s signature items, including:

- Smoked duck and shiitake mushroom larb
- Kanom jeen (fresh noodles with curry)
- Gaeng hang lay (pork belly curry with sour tamarind)
- Thai fried chicken wings with cashew and lemongrass salad
- Penang curry (braised beef with peanuts and burnt pineapple)

Soul Food Hong Kong is open daily for dinner from 6pm.
