The former face of Seasons spoke with us about his new plans after his recent departure from Lee Gardens' esteemed French restaurant

Since 2014, esteemed French chef Olivier Elzer had been the face of Seasons, which was his first solo restaurant since his executive chef post at Hong Kong’s L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon. After three years as its frontman, Elzer is ready for his next step --and he candidly shared with us his game plan for expanding his influence on the food and beverage scene in Hong Kong.

Elzer has revealed to us that he will be taking up a new consultancy role at The W Hong Kong, where he will help with building the food and beverage offerings at the hotel’s various restaurants. At the same time, Elzer will also be setting up his own business, a central kitchen facility aiming to offer food prep service and production of ready-made products and customised recipes.  The new food production business will aim to exclusively offer premium food products to local establishments.

A much bigger step for Elzer is yet to come, however, the chef is set to return to the restaurant kitchen in 2018 with a new role, taking on the executive chef role at a French establishment. “I have been in Hong Kong for eight years now, and I am planning to stay longer in this city with a bigger role in the food and beverage industry," said Elzer. "It will be a role based on my years of running the kitchen at Seasons and gaining knowledge about the restaurant business, and I think there is much to do ahead for me here. “
