Kickstarting Tatler’s newest experiences platform is a one-of-a-kind menu at one of the year’s most highly anticipated restaurant openings

After a six-month-long renovation, Mandarin Oriental’s signature Chinese restaurant Man Wah is ready to unveil its new look and thrilling new culinary offerings designed by celebrated chef Wong Wing-Keung. Re-opening on 1 February, the restaurant is set to reinvigorate the conversation around Cantonese food culture, with chef Wong’s inventive interpretations that are rooted in time-honoured techniques and practices.

Established in 1963, Man Wah at Mandarin Oriental has set the standard for Cantonese cuisine for decades. Its latest transformation pays homage to the past, present and future of Chinese culinary arts as imagined by chef Wong, a third-generation Cantonese chef who first joined the restaurant in 2011 as sous chef before taking the helm of Yee Tung Heen at The Excelsior, leading the restaurant to gain its first Michelin star. Chef Wong eventually returned to Man Wah in 2018 to take the dining institution to new heights, while never losing sight of the foundations of Cantonese cuisine.
