Nana Chan, the entrepreneur behind the much-loved Teakha café in Po Hing Fong, has opened a sister establishment near Hong Kong University

There’s no doubt that Hong Kong needs more places like Teakha, the cosy café specialising in comforting mugs of quality teas and a menu full of beautiful and creative cakes and biscuits. Entrepreneur Nana Chan hit the magic formula back in 2012 with her Po Hing Fong spot, and we’re happy to report that she has just opened her second Teakha further out west.

Teakha II, as it’s currently named, is located on Po Tuck Street in Sai Ying Pun – a quiet street off Hill Road and within walking distance of Hong Kong University.

The new café is very much unique, with all the small details rendered with the same amount of thoughtfulness as its predecessor. Chan has sourced beautiful hand-painted ceramics from Beijing, and decorated the space with natural and organic materials such as wooden screens and graceful potted plants. Like the original Teakha, there’s a large communal table to encourage interaction and sharing of space.

The menu will be more or less the same, “but with a more extensive cake selection,” Chan tells us.

The café is open Tuesdays to Sundays, between 11:00am and 7:00pm.
